Report: Austria lifts checks from new anti-Russian sanctions

MOSCOW, Dec 15 (PRIME) -- Austria has withdrawn technical objections to the E.U. 12 package of anti-Russian sanctions, Politico reported on Friday citing diplomatic sources.

“Three European diplomats confirmed to POLITICO Austria lifted its checks for the package to be adopted,” the agency reported.

Earlier, the media reported that it was a political move for Vienna to remove Raiffeisen, one of Austria’s top banks, from Ukraine’s black list.

Politico reported that Austria paused the process as it wanted to carry out “internal checks.”
